What are tags?
Tags are a great way to group contacts. A tag is any word or phrase that you want to associate with a contact. For example, you might have tags such as "VIP", "client", "west coast", etc. A tag can be a word or phrase that represents a group of contacts. Why tag contacts? When viewing a contact, tags associated to it are listed under the contact information, giving you important information about the contact right up front You can also search and segment by tag to quickly find a group of contacts, such as "west coast" contacts. How do I tag a contact? To add a tag to a contact, click on the contact you would like to tag. Click on the "add" link next to the Tags heading. You can choose to add an existing tag from the drop down menu, or create a new tag. Click the Add button, and the tag is added to that Contact. To delete a tag from a contact, go to the contact the tag is to be deleted from and click on the x icon before the tag to be deleted and the tag will be removed. How do I search and segment by tag? To view all your tags and the number of contacts tagged with each tag, click on the Tags tab. To search for contacts containing particular tags, check the box before the tag and click the Search button. Contacts containing all the tags checked will be listed. From this list you can add or remove tags by checking the box in front of the contact and clicking add or remove tag. You can also search for contacts by tags and other fields under the Search tab.
How do I tag or un-tag multiple contacts at once? Search for the contacts that you wish to tag or un-tag. When the search results are found, check the contacts you wish to affect and then click "Add tag" or "Remove tag". How do I delete a tag from all contacts? To delete a tag from your system, click on the Tags tab. Find the tag to be deleted from your system and click on the x icon at the end of the tag. When a tag is deleted on this screen, it is removed from your system and the tag is removed from all contacts tagged with that tag. |
